EDGE SOCCER PROGRAMS, MOOSE SOCCER TRAINING AND WHYFC ANNOUNCE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP AND NEW FACILITY

MONDAY, OCTOBER 29 (WILMINGTON, NC) – Edge Soccer Programs, Moose Soccer Training and The Wilmington Hammerheads Youth Soccer (WHYFC) are excited to announce a partnership that aims to improve every young players’ soccer experience throughout the Wilmington community. The centerpiece of the partnership is a new 16,000 square foot indoor facility that will include turf fields, locker rooms, meeting spaces, separation curtains, and full-size goals. The Edge Soccer Programs will work out of this space and offer individual and small group training for all players, all ages and all levels in the community. Formerly the Wilmington Basketball Center, the facility located at 7207 Ogden Business Lane will open with full programming options beginning in November.

Justin Moose, former professional player, current WHYFC Juniors Program Director, and Owner/founder of Moose Soccer Training, will join the Edge programming team, and the two organizations will work together to provide individual and small group training focused on improving the players in the Wilmington community.

“We’re really excited to have a state-of-the-art facility here in Wilmington that will help elevate the level of programming and training we can offer. This is going to benefit every player who loves the game and wants to get quality training,” said Moose. “This unique partnership was formed because we have a collective goal of player improvement. By creating an environment that helps young players reach their fullest potential, we feel confident that we’ll be able to elevate the level of soccer training in our community. I’m glad to be a part of it.”

Edge Soccer Programs (https://edgesoccerprograms.com), founded in Raleigh in 2016 by Mark Girard, has quickly expanded to two facilities and has consistently helped improve players at all ability levels in the soccer community in Raleigh – a city that consistently produces top teams and players and is widely considered a soccer hotbed in our country. Brian Ackley, a former Wilmington Hammerheads professional player who has played a large role with Edge since its beginning, will be leading up the Wilmington-Edge team.

“We are really excited to be joining the Wilmington Soccer community,” said Girard.  “There are so many quality players in Wilmington and there is a great group of soccer parents and coaches supporting them and we can’t wait to be a part of it. There are two things you’ll notice most about Edge Soccer Programs: our players love coming and have a smile on their face when they walk in to the Edge and when they leave the building, and they get better. The results from training with the Edge translate directly to their games. We are passionate about what we do, we have an awesome positive environment, we get to know every player, and we work to make them better and have a ton of fun doing it.”

In addition to the joining of Moose Soccer Training and Edge, WHYFC will also be a supporting partner in this project.

“I have known Mark Girard and his staff for a long time,” said Executive Director, Carson Porter I trust the work that they are doing and I’m excited to see our players in their building working hard, improving and having fun.  We will sync our calendars to make sure that our players have opportunities to work with the Edge staff, and support and endorse the work that they are doing.  I’m excited for the Edge to join our soccer community and I know we will be seeing the impact of the Edge in the form of passionate, high-level and skilled soccer players for years to come.”
