Camp Counselor
Edge Soccer Programs is looking for a FULL TIME (this is not seasonal or just for summer) camp counselor for our Raleigh (Brier Creek area) to join our team. Our address is Morrisville but we're located in the Brier Creek area right by the Brier Creek shopping area.
Applicants must have prior camp counselor, child care/day care program or afterschool program experience. Or if you're in school getting a degree in a directly related field such as education, teaching, sports/recreation, etc.
Our camp is 8am-4pm Monday - Friday and is offered year round. This is not just a summer time employment opportunity. Our camp is offered year round (for children in traditional school, year round school, those out for teacher workdays or holidays, etc) so this job is year round. We want to hire someone that LOVES working with children, enjoys a camp environment and can grow this program and make it fantastic! We want to have the best camp in the triangle area and are looking for someone with drive, determination, skills and an awesome attitude that can do that!
You do not need to know anything about soccer as our camps are activity based so campers will do some soccer but they also participate in a variety of other activities such as capture the flag, cross the ocean, the floor is lava, kick ball, wiffle ball, scavenger hunts, arts & crafts, and more!
First and foremost, we are looking for people who LOVE & ENJOY working with kids! Edge camp counselors must enjoy being around children, working with them, and be excellent at creating various games that engage all children and help them have a super fun day at camp! They must also have a strong work ethic, be a team player, have the ability to look out for the safety & well being of campers, and be able to have FUN! You will experience & engage in everything the campers experience & do! Basically you get paid to play!
DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for running all aspects of our camp program and enjoys working with campers in a fast paced and fun environment. Will also keep campers actively engaged and having fun all day and all week.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan camp activities each day & week
- Greets and welcomes parents and children in a warm and friendly manner
- Resolves conflicts between campers in a fair, positive, and professional manner
- Develops positive relationships with kids and parents
- Updates parents and Edge management at the end of each day on any issues that need to be addressed
- Responds to parents questions, comments, concerns
- Has FUN!
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Ability to maintain professionalism at all times
- Ability to come up with games to be played at camp & participate in them
- Ability to interact with children and parents
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MUST be able to work 7:45am-4pm
- Experience working with children ages 5 – 12
- Prefer prior camp counselor experience
- First aid certification preferred but not required
- Background check is required and will be performed by The Edge Soccer Programs
- Documentation of legal U.S. residency
